Concord, Ontario, Canada, November 15, 2012 - DCL International Inc. is pleased to announce that DCL oxidation catalysts have been proven successful in demonstrating long term effectiveness for controlling Volatile Organic Compounds and meeting the California's South Coast Air Quality Management District limit.

A two year study was conducted on several large two cycle spark ignited engines used for natural gas compression. These two cycle engines typically operate with low exhaust temperatures, making it challenging to control volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions with oxidation catalysts. The two year study evaluated the performance of DCL oxidation catalysts for controlling VOC emissions. Upon completion of this study, it was concluded that DCL catalysts were successful in demonstrating long term effectiveness of volatile organic compounds and meeting California's South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) limit.

"Up until now there was little in terms of documented literature on oxidation catalysts for spark-ignited two cycle engines in excess of 1000 horsepower," said Joe Aleixo, manager of technical services for DCL. "The study shows that under these challenging applications, VOC emissions can be significantly reduced over a long period in an economical manner."

The findings of the study were published and presented at the Gas Machinery Research Council (GMRC) Conference in October 2012. A link to the paper is provided here.
